Program: Medicine in English
Semester: IV Sem

Biography

Hello! :) My name is Luka Babalashvili, and I am a 4th-semester student in the English-language Medicine Program.

Since my school years, I have been actively involved in both formal and non-formal education. I first served as a class representative and later became the President of the School Student Council. During this time, I gained extensive experience in organizational and leadership activities, including facilitating communication between students and administration, as well as organizing projects and events.

I have also been teaching English since my school years. After graduating from school, I passed the Biology Teacher Certification Examination and continued tutoring students in biology. Currently, I work as a Histology Tutor at the university, a role in which I have achieved considerable success.

Over the years, I have accumulated significant teaching experience and discovered that education and mentorship are among my greatest strengths. I actively participate in nearly every conference and project organized by the university, including Medic 2024-25, lectures and workshops conducted during the visit of our Polish colleagues, and the International Congress of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Through my active involvement in these initiatives, we established valuable connections with European and American professors and physicians, creating opportunities for future collaborations and projects at TMA.

I have also been involved in organizing and participating in the academy's “What? Where? When?” intellectual competition. During Neurodegenerative Diseases Week, organized in collaboration with a partner American university, I contributed to the creation of both artistic and scientific posters focused on ADHD. My previous practical training in Digital Art greatly supported me throughout this process.

At present, I am actively involved in the organizational activities of TMA’s First Aid Club as both a member of the PR team and a trainer.

Beyond academics, I was a Georgian folk dancer for eleven years, beginning at the age of five, and I recently returned to dancing this semester. I have also been passionate about drawing and painting since childhood.

Additionally, I am a Gold Medal graduate, ranked first among students admitted to my cohort at TMA based on entrance examination scores. I currently serve as my group's representative and hope to become the next Student Academy Ambassador.

Action Plan

For me, the title of Student Academy Ambassador is not only a great honor but also a tremendous responsibility. I assure you that the ideas presented during this campaign are not simply words intended to gain your support. They are commitments that I genuinely intend to transform into meaningful changes for the students of our academy.

I believe I can create an environment where every student feels comfortable approaching me with concerns, ideas, and suggestions at any time. I promise to be one of the first people at the academy willing to offer support and assistance whenever needed.

I would also like to establish a new tradition for future ambassadors by organizing informal student meetings where we can openly discuss existing challenges within the academy, develop solutions together, and ensure that student voices reach the appropriate decision-makers. For those who prefer anonymity, we will create an online platform for anonymous feedback and suggestions.

In addition, I plan to actively work on one of the most requested student initiatives: organized student excursions. This project requires strong support from both the academy and the student body, but I firmly believe that after years of anticipation, every student deserves opportunities for recreation, relaxation, and meaningful experiences outside the classroom.

I also consider it essential to support existing student clubs and encourage the creation of new ones. One of my personal goals is to establish a Georgian Folk Dance Club, which could become a distinctive symbol of our academy during international events and cultural activities.

Finally, I would like to organize meetings with inspiring public figures whose experiences and perspectives can benefit medical students. Discussing important topics, gaining motivation, and learning from successful individuals can help reduce stress and strengthen resilience throughout our medical education journey. Supporting students' well-being and helping them complete their studies with fewer psychological challenges will be one of my primary goals and motivations throughout the coming year.
