Tbilisi Medical Academy offers medical and healthcare-related programs designed to support modern education standards and prepare students for professional careers. Our programs emphasise academic foundation, early clinical training, and thinking, and the practical skills required in healthcare.
The Faculty Development Department was established in February 2019, taking into account the results of a SWOT analysis conducted by a TMA working group (lack of activities supporting the continuous professional development of academic and invited staff, 2017), the recommendation of authorization experts (provide more professional training for educators to improve their medical teaching skills and administrative management, 2018), and the requirements of the Sectoral Benchmark Statement of Higher Education in Medicine (the need to train educators in medical education methodology).
The Department aims to support the professional development of academic and invited staff, to ensure high-quality teaching and research and to support a continuously developing, qualified team that shares the Academy’s mission, its vision for teaching and research, and its institutional culture.
