Freshmen

Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy has been successfully implementing its one-tier English-language medicine programme since 2012. The six-year programme covers 360 credits and is based on ECTS, WFME, and CanMED standards.

The programme aims to prepare qualified doctors with evidence-based knowledge, communication, clinical, research, social, and self-analysis skills together with high ethical and moral standards.

Innovative Teaching and Clinical Skills Development

TMA develops a student-centred learning environment shaped by global healthcare challenges and emerging technologies. Students are introduced to clinical cases, real patients, and simulated patients from the first stages of study.

Funding

TMA operates a flexible funding model to motivate students and encourage high academic performance. All students enrolled at TMA study with full funding during the first academic year.

  • GPA 3.5 or higher: 100% tuition funding for the following semester
  • GPA 3.0 to 3.5: 50% tuition funding for the following semester
  • Students with a state social grant receive additional institutional co-financing equal to 30% of the state social grant amount

Exchange Programmes

From the first year, TMA students can participate in semester, bilateral, short-term, and clinical exchange programmes with academy scholarships at more than 33 partner universities in 21 countries.

The partner network includes universities in Italy, Spain, Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Turkey, Egypt, Armenia, Romania, Uzbekistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, France, Kenya, and Croatia.

As a student-centred institution, TMA provides academic, psychological, and career support services for students.

Financial Information

At registration, an entrant must present a receipt confirming payment of half of the semester fee together with the mandatory documents.
