MEDIC 4.0 (2026)
MEDIC 4.0: The Future of Medical Education in the Era of Digital Transformation & AI
Ensuring Safe Healthcare and a Better Quality of Life
The Challenge: The "Competence Vacuum" in Modern Medicine
Today, we are living in the era of Health 4.0, a time when the healthcare system is undergoing an unprecedented, large-scale technological transformation. Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms, automated data analytics, and telemedicine tools are being integrated into clinical practice daily. Diagnostic and treatment approaches are becoming increasingly dependent on complex digital systems.
However, amidst this rapid progress, a critical challenge has emerged: the medical education system is struggling to keep pace with technological evolution. A profound "competence vacuum" is forming between traditional university curricula and the demanding realities of modern clinical environments. Today's doctors are required to use tools whose underlying mechanisms, potential biases, and ethical boundaries are rarely taught in depth.
An inadequately prepared professional, lacking the skills to critically evaluate algorithmic decisions, inadvertently increases the risk of medical errors. Furthermore, the unguided integration of technology can strain the doctor-patient relationship, diminish human empathy, and ultimately threaten patient safety.
Our Mission & The Goal of the Conference
MEDIC 4.0 is not just a conference; it is an international, interdisciplinary platform designed to bridge this critical gap.
Our core mission is to ignite a large-scale scientific discussion on the urgent adaptation of medical education. Together, we will define the new competencies that are absolutely vital for the 21st-century physician: accurate data interpretation, navigating AI biases, upholding rigorous professional ethics, and most importantly, maintaining a patient-centered, empathetic approach in an increasingly digital environment.
Who is MEDIC 4.0 For?
This conference stands out for its high interdisciplinarity, bringing together 120-150 participants from across the globe. Because the challenge of Health 4.0 is multifaceted, we invite:
- Academic staff & researchers who are designing the curricula of tomorrow.
- Medical practitioners & clinicians who face daily technological challenges on the front lines.
- Technology specialists & data scientists who build and deploy digital health instruments.
- Social scientists & ethicists who evaluate the communicative and moral impacts of technology.

The conference will be held in a Hybrid Format (on-site in Tbilisi, Georgia, with a remote participation option), ensuring worldwide knowledge sharing with leading international experts.
- Days I & II: Global perspectives and clinical practice The first two days are dedicated to dynamic plenary sessions, thematic panels, and workshops. Participants will explore the best international educational models and dive into real-world clinical Case Studies to clearly understand both the capabilities and limitations of Artificial Intelligence.
- Day III: Empowering youth and the health hackathon The final day is entirely devoted to the next generation, students and young researchers (at least 30 participants). Through practical, hands-on training and an interactive hackathon, young minds will generate innovative ideas and learn how to transform theoretical knowledge into practical, technological healthcare solutions.
The Medical Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation for Safer Healthcare and Better Quality of Life (MEDIC 4.0), Tbilisi, Georgia, 25/11/2026 – 27/11/2026, has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 17.0 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
Long-Term Impact & Open Science
MEDIC 4.0 is strictly focused on tangible, lasting results. Based on the conference discussions, a comprehensive policy brief will be developed and published. This document will offer practical, evidence-based recommendations to universities and healthcare policymakers for the safe and effective digitalization of the educational process.
In adherence to Open Science principles, all scientific materials, presentations, abstracts, and video recordings will be freely accessible on the university's website and indexed in the international Open Access repository, Zenodo.
Join us at MEDIC 4.0! Become part of the crucial transformation that will define the quality and safety of tomorrow's medicine. Together, let's create a healthcare environment where technological progress inherently serves human life, empathy, and safety.
