March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day. The main message of the 2022 campaign is #inclusionmeans. Inclusion envisages the notion that regardless of the individual challenges, everyone should have the opportunity to be integrated into the society, and live in an equal, free and peaceful environment.
In relation to this day, TMA hosted a meeting which was attended by the representatives of the organization “Children of the Sun” and its beneficiaries. Guests discussed the social perceptions towards people with Down Syndrome, and the need to overcome the stereotypes about people with disabilities.
World Down Syndrome Day was established on November 10th, 2011, under the auspice of the United Nations. Georgia joined this celebration in 2012.
