The Dean of the School of Medicine of TMA Lali Mekokishvili was awarded the status of an honorary member of the Polish Society of Dermatologists for her contribution to the development of the field of dermatology and cooperation between the Georgian and Polish societies. The decision was made by the Board of the Polish Society of Dermatologists and a special anniversary medal was presented in the historical hall of the University of Wroclaw.
The award ceremony was followed by the VIII Continental Congress of Dermatology. This year, Lali Mekokishvili participated in the congress as a member of the scientific committee and a plenary speaker. She shared modern knowledge and her experience with the audience regarding childhood acne. In addition, three of her students won a grant to participate in the congress and presented interesting clinical cases at the session of young dermatologists. One of them was TMA's invited lecturer Kakha Bregvadze.
The Continental Congress of Dermatologists is organized by the International Society of Dermatologists in different countries once every 4 years. Scientists and practicing doctors from almost all countries of the world will present the latest scientific/practical achievements in the field of dermatology at the congress.
