On May 31 TMA celebrated World No Tobacco Day and hosted a social event – “Go Green Not Sick.” The event was designed and organized by TMA student, Head of Public Health Committee (SCOPH) of GFMSA, George Kikvadze.
During the day, members of SCOPH in the frames of the project, visited Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU) and David Tvildiani Medical University (DTMU), where they offered students flower pots in exchange for cigarettes. The campaign was aiming to raise awareness towards harms of smoking for health and environment and promote healthy lifestyle.
The day ended with informative and interactive lecture regarding effects of smoking and ways to overcome it. The lecture was led by Marketing Manager of Pharmaceutical Company “Sopharma,” Mrs. Eter Bunturi, MD. MPH, who introduced lead product of company, “TABEX” which is proven to be one of most effective drugs for overcoming nicotine addiction.
The project was carried out with encouragement and support of Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy and Pharmaceutical Company “Sopharma”
