The Georgian Student Association of Orthopedics and Traumatology (GSAOT) hosted White Light: An Evening for Bone Cancer Awareness at the TMA Exhibition Hall, creating a deeply moving and memorable afternoon in honor of World Bone Cancer Awareness Day. This heartwarming fundraising and networking event brought together students, storytellers, and changemakers with one shared goal — to stand in solidarity with those affected by bone cancer.
One of the highlights of the event was the Open Mic Fundraiser, which became a safe space for honest expression and heartfelt contribution. Some spoke about their past relationships, others sang their favorite songs, and A few lightened the mood with jokes, while some simply talked into the mic — but each voice held one thing in common: a sincere desire to contribute. Every minute on stage helped raise funds, but more than that, it helped build a sense of community and purpose.
Together, the community raised some funds, which were donated in full to the International Cancer Foundation, Switzerland, supporting cancer research, treatment access, and patient care worldwide.
The event was made even more special by the attendance and solidarity of organizations, including:
ASRU (Alte Students Research Unit), Beyond Birth, ClinNova International, DTMU Library Friends Club, EduGradient, GAIMS Georgia, GIMSOC, GISMUN, IHI Student Club (GAU), IMG Unity, INCREDOC, Medical Innovations Community, MedVentures, and That Pediatric Place.
Their presence transformed the event into more than a fundraiser — it became a shared celebration of hope, healing, and the power of collective kindness.
