Planetary health, an interdisciplinary field encompassing medicine, public health, social sciences, environmental science, etc., is focused on examining the consequences of man-made disruptions to our ecosystem which consequently affect human health. During her talk, alongside discussing a variety of themes illustrating challenges in this emerging field, Mariam (Maka) Maglakelidze, the Dean of the School of Medicine of TMA, will highlight COVID-19 Pandemic as a quintessential planetary health problem, reflecting the rupture of the human relationship with the natural world and will accentuate solutions needed to overcome environmental threats and to protect human health and planet we are living on.
