Representatives of the International Relations Department of Tbilisi Medical Academy (TMA), Natalia Kochlashvili and Tekla Ratiani, participated in the annual conference of the European Association for International Education (EAIE). The 35th conference was hosted this year in Gothenburg, Sweden.
As part of their visit, TMA representatives also traveled to the University of Skövde, one of Sweden’s prominent HEIs. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to gain deeper insights into the university’s academic environment and research priorities, particularly in the fields of medicine and nursing.
During their time at Skövde, the delegates toured the university campus, attended a panel discussion on innovations in healthcare education, and explored the latest trends shaping the future of medical and nursing training. A key highlight of the visit was an immersive experience at the simulation center, where they had hands-on interaction with cutting-edge educational technologies. These included a smart home equipped with sensors for patient monitoring and interactive prototypes simulating aging and various diseases, tools designed to enhance the training of healthcare professionals by creating realistic learning environments.
This visit not only strengthened ties with a key Scandinavian institution but also provided unique insights and ideas that could serve as a potential basis for designing and implementing future academic programmes at TMA. The International Relations Department remains committed to fostering global engagement and ensuring that TMA remains an active participant in the international academic community.
