“Together Against Loneliness” is the main message of the March 2026 campaign by the World Down Syndrome Organization, which aims to strengthen social inclusion and emphasize the importance of solidarity and support. As part of the campaign, thousands of people around the world symbolically wear colorful socks to draw greater attention to the needs and potential of individuals with Down Syndrome.
Tbilisi Medical Academy traditionally joined the campaign and hosted representatives of its partner organization, the social enterprise “Babale.”
An exhibition and sale of artworks created by adolescents with Down Syndrome was held at the Academy. The colorful socks produced by “Babale” stand out for their original and distinctive designs. Created in collaboration with Georgian artists and young people with Down Syndrome, these socks represent a unique product line developed specifically for the organization. The event took place at the Academy and was marked by active participation from both students and staff.
As an institution committed to the well-being of society, TMA is continuously engaged in implementing such initiatives. The Academy places particular importance on fostering an inclusive environment and promoting social responsibility among young people. Through campaigns like this, TMA aims to raise public awareness about individuals with Down Syndrome and contribute to breaking down the stigma and stereotypes associated with them.
