Tbilisi Medical Academy (TMA) has started Open Door Days to welcome prospective medical students to its one step educational program “Medicine in English”. During the event, prospective applicants met academic staff and students, gaining insight into TMA’s Medicine program through real conversations and firsthand experiences.

Applicants explored TMA’s modern learning system, which connects medical theory with clinical skills from the very beginning. The program is lecture-free, patient-centered, student-driven, and fully integrated, focusing on active learning. Students learn to think critically, solve problems, and develop clinical reasoning for confident medical practice.

One of TMA’s strongest advantages is its emphasis on early clinical exposure. From the first year, students begin working in both simulated and real clinical settings, allowing them to observe doctor–patient communication, build professional confidence, and gradually develop hands-on experience. Applicants also learned about the Academy’s peer-to-peer learning model, where students support one another academically and professionally, creating a collaborative and inclusive learning culture.

To enhance both learning and research outcomes, the “Medicine in English” program provides students with full access to advanced academic and digital resources. These include the Anatomage virtual anatomy table and the CyberPatient platform, available 24/7 for clinical training and practice. Students also benefit from free, extensive library resources and access to leading international scientific databases, supporting deeper academic development and early research engagement. In addition, TMA provides fully funded exchange opportunities with more than 33 partner universities in 21 countries, starting from the first year of study, opening real international pathways for students from the very beginning of their medical journey.

A New Model of Financial Support for Students

A major highlight of TMA’s 2026 admission cycle is the introduction of a new financial support model for Georgian students. All Georgian citizens enrolling in the English-language Medicine program in 2026 will receive 100% tuition funding for the first academic year, covering both the first and second semesters.

This support continues beyond the first year through a performance-based system. Students who achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher at the end of the semester will retain full (100%) tuition funding for the following semester. Students with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.5 will receive 50% tuition funding for the next semester.

This model is designed to reward academic commitment, motivate progress, and ensure that talented and hardworking students have the opportunity to continue their education with strong institutional support.
