On May 3-5 was held an international jubilee congress dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the World Allergy Organization (WAO) - "GAACI meets WAO". The event was organized by the Georgian Association of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (GAACI) and supported by the Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy (TMA). Leading international experts in the field participated in it, including Nobel Prize laureate Aaron Ciechanover, current WAO President Mario Morais-Almeida, and former presidents of the organization, as well as representatives of the governing boards of the American and European academies.
Parallel to the scientific sessions, students, residents, and young researchers had the opportunity to participate in the activities of the "International School in Allergology and Immunology." Within this specific module of the international congress on May 5 TMA hosted interested students for practical workshops on Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).
