Tbilisi hosted the 11th Congress of the Georgian Heart Rhythm Association (GeHRA). This year’s forum was especially significant, as it marked the organization's 15th anniversary. The main message of the congress was “15 Years of Professional Unity and Success.”
Within the framework of the event, experts discussed current issues in arrhythmology, recent medical advances, and future perspectives in cardiac rhythm management.
Students of Tbilisi Medical Academy also took part in the congress, where they conducted first-aid training sessions for participants and guests.
The workshop was organized within the Erasmus+ Institutional Development Project LIFESTRAND Project, which aims to develop first aid training opportunities for university staff, students, and the wider public in Georgia and Ukraine, while also promoting the exchange of experience and best practices in this field. An important component of the project is the training of vulnerable populations living in regions exposed to high militarization risks and affected by Russian occupation and military aggression, equipping them with essential emergency medical aid skills.
The “LIFESTRAND” project was initiated, designed, and is being implemented under the direct coordination of Tbilisi Medical Academy. The initiative brings together nine universities from Georgia, Ukraine, Spain, and Portugal.
The congress once again served as an important platform for sharing experience, strengthening scientific cooperation, and promoting international collaboration in the field of healthcare education and emergency response training.
