Following an Erasmus+ staff mobility visit to Poland in May 2026, Tbilisi Medical Academy deepened its partnership with the Medical University of Lodz.
From 18 to 22 May, Kakha Bregvadze, Co-Head of One-Step Educational Program, and Maka Maglakelidze, Head of the Department of Institutional Culture Development, spent five days in Poland meeting university leadership, exploring its facilities, and identifying concrete areas for future collaboration.
TMA team met with Professor Janusz Janczukowicz, Vice-Dean for Development of Education, and Professor Joanna Makowska, Vice-Dean for Education, along with faculty from dermatology, oncology, palliative medicine, and medical simulation. Conversations were candid and forward-looking, focusing on how both universities can learn from each other and build something lasting together.
Several clear priorities emerged for future cooperation: strengthening approaches to medical education, advancing research on student professionalism, resilience, and well-being, and developing joint work in medical humanities and palliative care.
It was a step toward building a long-term international partnership that benefits students, faculty, and the broader medical community.
