About the club
The Debate Club was created to foster logical reasoning, structured argumentation, and confident self-expression among students. The club aims to cultivate the skills of forming one’s own opinions, active listening, and asking meaningful questions. Through various projects and sessions, members will be introduced to different debate formats, strengthen both individual and teamwork abilities, and engage with important topics that contribute to their development as informed citizens and future professionals.
Our activities include:
- A debate championship in the British Parliamentary format, focusing on topics in healthcare, ethics, and bioethics.
- Mini-debates for club members in the Karl Popper and Lincoln–Douglas formats.
- Case-based simulation debates.
- Workshops aimed at improving public speaking skills.
- Collaboration with other universities to co-host debate championships.
