Laboratory – “Learn by Doing”


Laboratory is the structural unit of the Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy. Its resources and infrastructure are used in teaching process and research activities. Laboratory integrates microbiology, immunology and biochemistry units. 
Usage of laboratory in the teaching process aims performance of the concrete laboratory tasks by student. In particular, practical activity in the laboratory means realization of simple and complex diagnostical tasks by application of microbiology, biochemical and immunology methods.
Depending on the teaching course content laboratory activities might aim:

  • Possibility of theoretical knowledge usage
  • Realization of concrete tasks and projects by application of microbiology, biochemistry and immunology methods
  • Collection, analysis and interpretation of laboratory findings and data.

Furthermore, laboratory is the place where scientific-research projects of students, young scientists and academic staff are realized.
