A new case report co-authored by Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy students has been published in the American Journal of Case Reports.
The article, “A 35-Year-Old Woman Presenting With Life-Threatening Fulminant Myocarditis After COVID-19: A Case Report,” examines a rare and serious heart complication associated with COVID-19. The case describes a previously healthy 35-year-old woman who developed severe heart inflammation that rapidly affected her heart function and led to life-threatening complications.
The report highlights the importance of early diagnosis and timely treatment, while also discussing advanced life-support options, including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), for severe cases.
The article was authored by students - Ia Barabadze and Nikoloz Natsvlishvili, and faculty member Darejan Mdinaradze, of the Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy.
