In the early 20th century, the research of Frederick Bunting and Charles Best was pivotal to the care of patients with type 1 diabetes. They discovered insulin. The collaboration between Bunting and Best not only led to the discovery of a biologically active protein, but it was a major scientific discovery that changed the lives of millions of people around the world.

 Insulin is an effective combination of science and technology in the field of medical research. A new era for healthcare has begun with the chain of events from the laboratory to the pharmacy. However, with the discovery of insulin, innovation only began. Drug delivery devices and digital technologies have completely transformed diabetes management, improving patient well-being.

Within the frames of the project, „InTech4MED: Innovation and Technology in Medicine“a hybrid event was held. It aimed to discuss the details of this extraordinary scientific achievement and clinical simulation case.
