"Alzheimer's Club" Event

2024-05-31

With the initiative of "Alzheimer's Club", TMA hosted another meeting.

The meeting was chaired by the president of the Alzheimer's Association of Georgia, a member of the Association of Neurologists, neurologist Nona Mindiashvili.

The speaker informed the students about Alzheimer's pathophysiology and modern approaches. During her speech, she emphasized once again the positive cooperation between TMA and Alzheimer's Association and expressed her desire to further deepen the partnership. "I want this relationship between the Alzheimer's Association of Georgia and the Academy to continue and become more productive. At the same time, I think that it is very important to interest students in these topics because I believe that the effectiveness of the treatment of this disease is ultimately in the hands of the next generation. I hope that it is the new generation that will find ways and medicines to cure this disease," she said.

Student interest in Alzheimer's disease is growing, and it is students who initiate meetings with professionals in the field. "We scheduled the meeting at the request of the club's volunteers. I think that by volunteering in this club, we will tackle a very important and interesting task, for which we first need to raise our awareness, and Ms. Nona's lecture helped us in this," said TMA student Khatia Devadze, who at the same time is the head of the "Alzheimer's Club".
