Student Competition of Social and Cultural Projects Announced!

We are glad to announce the second “Student competition of social and cultural projects”.
Project proposals need to correspond to one of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (https://sdgs.un.org/goals) and/or echo the areas of special interest of TMA strategic development plan:
(1) Community engagement
(2) Health awareness raising and advocacy
(3) Environmental and Planetary Health.
Conditions of the project proposals:
Documents to be presented:
1) Filled out application form (view the attached annex)
2) Motivation letter for project implementation (should be written by an applicant or project team), indicating also roles and responsibilities of project participant(s)
3) Confirmation letters of collaboration from the partner organizations (in case of such)
Proposal submission deadline: May 2nd, COB, 2025.
Applicant(s): an eligible applicant should be a TMA student or student group. The roles and responsibilities of project participants should be outlined.
Involvement of TMA academic or invited staff as project advisors will be highly encouraged while it promotes TMA culture and enhances unity of TMA community.
Duration of the project: needs to be a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 months. Throughout the project duration, the applicants are entitled to present interim and final reports, with the consideration of the project duration.
Budget: The maximum budget for each project should not exceed 3000 GEL. The applicant should be a TMA student or student group. The budget does not consider the salaries. A contract will be signed with the authors of the winning project.
The project proposals need to be sent no later than May 2nd, 2025, on the following e-mail: studentgrants@tma.edu.ge. The Subject line of the e-mail should state „Competition for Social and Cultural Student projects“.
The winners of the first student competition were following projects:
- “Planetary Health and Waste Management”
The project aims to engage young people in environmental and sustainable development issues by raising awareness and promoting active participation.
- “Whisper of Danger: Exploring the Decibel Effect on Heart Rate”
The project aims to create an educational film that explores the connection between noise pollution and cardiovascular health, raising awareness to encourage actions for a sustainable and healthy city.
- “Special Needs Support”
The project aims to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in society by fostering equality, solidarity, and unity, while encouraging students to collaborate for social change and full participation of individuals with disabilities.
- “Students for Public Health”
The project aims to improve public health in the Gurjaani region by raising awareness about hypertension, teaching first aid, and enhancing access to medical education to reduce cardiovascular risks and life-threatening situations.
- “VitalCare”
The project aims to provide reliable medical information to the public, enabling individuals to respond effectively in emergencies, while students from the Tbilisi Medical Academy share knowledge to reduce fatalities and make life-saving education accessible to all.
