“Building professional capacity for quality improvement and patient safety in Georgia” - a study published on the official website of BMJ Global Health.
Tbilisi Medical Academy (TMA) is one of the first institutions to dedicate a number of conferences to modern approaches to patient safety management. This issue is discussed in this study in the context of the challenges in Georgia.
The co-author of the study is Dr. Lela Sturua, a TMA invited Lecturer in Medical Quality and Patient Safety, Master of Medicine, and a Certified Specialist of the International Society for Healthcare Quality in the field of patient-oriented clinical practice and external assessment of the quality of medical services. The subject of medical quality and patient safety has been taught at TMA since 2018, and has been granted the status of a mandatory subject since 2021.
